Construction of Orthoro Rescue Center Complete!

Thanks to the financial gifts of people like you and the support of LCMS World Relief and Human Care, the construction of Orthoro Rescue Center is now finished, offering hope to sixty young people. Here, children are fed, clothed, given access to health care and education, and hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the hill country of western Kenya, Othoro Rescue Center now stands.

“May this rescue center always be a place where the clear Gospel of Christ is known…
and may it always be a place where children are loved and cared for in Christ’s name.”
Rev. Matthew Harrison,
Ex. Director of LCMS World Relief and Human Care
at the dedication of the Othoro Rescue Center.

In Kenya, Africa, the HIV/AIDS pandemic has left 2-3 million orphan children with no one to care for their basic needs. Project 24, a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) orphan rescue ministry, was founded to provide hope through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through Project 24, orphanage rescue centers are being built around the country of Kenya to provide education, food, clothing, and housing for children in need. Financial donations are collected to fund construction efforts and child sponsorships support the on-going costs of childcare at the centers. Current orphanage rescue sites include Othoro and Motango. Project 24 is a ministry that appreciates the support of LCMS World Relief and Human Care and the North Dakota District.
